Shigeki Morimoto is a designer at Game Freak, the primary developer of the Pokémon video game series. He has been involved in nearly every main series Pokémon game since Pokémon Red and Green Versions, where he was a programmer, as well as the creator of the battle system and rare Pokémon "Mew." Since then, he has served as the director of more recent games in the series.
